Spring is Here by Elaine Dennison April 4, 2011

Filed under: Digital Scrapbooks — Julie Mead @ 7:02 pm

April is the promise of spring — in the northern climates the snow is abating and crocuses and other early bloomers are peeking out from the snow.  In the lower Latitudes, the days are warmer and mother nature has painted everything in bright spring foliage.  For the other side of the world, summer is winding down and fall is in the air.  No matter where you live,  April is a month of change.  This week our team is celebrating spring.

Mary is still experiencing a bit of snow and is showing us the brave efforts her plants are making in turning a bleak landscape into the colors of spring.  For her delightful page, Mary used It’s Fall Y’all Grungy Cardstock by Kay Elfin, Texture Brushes by Coppercurls Designs, and Dash of Snow and Paper Snow Kit by Julie Mead.  Click on the image to see how she blended and brushed to make her creation a one-of-a-kind design.

Katie is also thinking of spring and flowers in her page, Spring Blooms, which  revolves around a spring visit featuring lilacs and family.  I love the beautiful way she combines five photos and tucks different elements in front and behind her photos adding additional depth and interest.  Katie used Grunge Swirl Brushes by Coppercurls Designs and Strawberries and Cream Elements and Strawberries and Cream Papers by Ruth Davis.

Mary adroitly used Baker’s Dozen Multiphoto 2 by Kay Elfin, then blended papers from Kay Elfin’s Yellow Roses Paper Pack with Coppercurls Designs’  Paper Blenders 2, and iced it with her cleverly designed title.

Spring has Sprung by Mary

Carissa features lovely flowers and uses a tree to as the letter S to spell out Spring in her creative page.  Her journaling is awesome and I highly recommend your visiting the gallery to read her tribute to Spring. Carissa combined A Gentle Earth Elements and Papers by Kay Elfin and Hillside Morning by Guild Encore Designs.

And for Lynn, spring means the beginning of baseball season.  Opening Day exudes spring and the excitement and enthusiasm as everyone enjoys the beautiful spring weather in the park.  I really like the panoramic shot and fun elements.  Billy’s Baseball by Kay Elfin was the perfect choice for Lynn’s baseball photos.

Best Day Ever by Kay Elfin just bubbles over with color and AnikA used is brilliantly for her pages entitled Happiness and Spring is in the Air.  Both fun pages express the happiness and joy that are spring.

As you can see from our lovely layouts, spring is a time of joy, renewal, and the return to color.  Thanks for dropping by and don’t forget to go outside and enjoy the beauty that surrounds you!

FREE: Home File Folders from Erica Nunez by Julie Mead

Filed under: Freebie — Julie Mead @ 12:05 pm

So many fun things to do with these adorable Home File Folders by Erica Nunez.

Create a stack of blank cards to give as a small gift to a new neighbor, a co-worker, or as a thank you.  Of course, you will want to make a stack of these for yourself as recipe cards, or add them to your layouts.  They would even make a great start to a card.  Don’t forget Mother’s Day is coming up!

(special thanks to Erica for sharing these cards with us.)

Like the home file cards?  I personally just love the kit Erica used to create the cards.

It’s such a great kit with wonderful warm colors and adorable elements.

I asked Sus Designs for a sale and she graciously offered it for 25% off for one week, April 3 – 9, 2011.  I know you are going to love this kit as much as I do.  It’s really so versatile.

Coordinating Alpha is also on sale for 25% off this week.

Great Beginnings with Digital Paint by Julie Mead April 1, 2011

Filed under: Tutorials — Julie Mead @ 8:02 pm

I love to paint and I love how digital paint can add a very realistic painted look to layouts.  You can even do some pretty cool things with paint and Photoshop software.

This subtle colored layout was made with just a few pieces.

Follow my simple steps to learn how you can create something similar.

The first step is working with the photo.

These Easy Paint flowers were made using only 2 products!

All you need to recreate this layout is the following 2 products.

I used the swirly drawn rose from this kit.

Meet Designer Ruth Davis and Enjoy a Sample Freebie March 31, 2011

Filed under: Designer,Freebie,Product Previews — Julie Mead @ 7:26 pm

I love art.   All forms. I love to paint and pencil sketch, however both of these have really taken a back seat to digital art. I do still dabble and I like to incorporate my art into my digital creations. The day that I googled “digital scrapping” is a day that really changed my life. Quickly addicted, I began pouring myself into layouts. Layouts about my children, layouts about my past, layouts about me. Little did I know, that this would become a journey of self discovery, inner strength and freedom. Little did I know, that I would become a designer through wonderful support and encouragement from members of this fantastic team. And, little did I know, that I would create strong and true friendships. Grateful, I am.

ADD THIS KIT FOR ONLY $1.50 During Month of April

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: To get immediate access to this FREE offer, just add it to your cart along with any paid product. E-scape Artists Team Reveal: March Madness by Tania Ruiz March 28, 2011

Filed under: Digital Scrapbooks — Julie Mead @ 6:42 pm

March Madness is not only a basketball tournament to which many sports fans flock – it’s a way of life.  In some areas the weather perks up enough for outdoor activities, in other areas people simply find something new and fun to do indoors, but everywhere people shrug off the sluggish slumber of winter and burst into the energy of spring.  Here we share with your our own versions of March Madness.

March Madness by Tania

In Florida the weather warms up quite suddenly with the beginning of March and everyone who isn’t glued to the TV rushes back outside.    This layout of my nephew was created with papers and elements from The Busy Elf Designs’ kit Being Green and Being Green Add-On.  The mesh element was the perfect mask to decorate the edges of my photo.

March Madness – Birthday Style! By Carissa

March is a busy month for birthdays in Carissa’s family.  Here she used elements from Sus Designs’ Turning Princess kit as well as from Kay Eflin’s Baby Girl Birthday Party to capture the fun of these events.

March Madness by Katie

Katie’s kids were very busy on this warm spring day.  She used some fitting quotes as part of her journaling, along with papers and elements from Sus Designs’ Foxy kit and Foxy Add-on.

March Madness by Mary

Mary created a vibrant two-page layout about the madness of moving using Coppercurls Designs’ Summer So Fine Kit.  The various sized photos of items that had to be packed and organized add to her theme.

March Madness – Camera by Carissa

Carissa’s camera is feeling the madness too!  The dimensional picture of her camera takes center stage, with great supporting elements including pictures that she took with it.  This layout showcases products from the It’s Spring line by the J2K team.
