E-scape Artist Team Reveal:  They Gave their All by Elaine Dennison

Word Art

Veteran’s Day was just a few days ago and thoughts of those no longer with us still linger in my mind.  We all have known people who have affected our lives and these memories are what prompted today’s CT posting.  The quote above seemed quite appropriate and I will be sharing it with you at the end of the article.

Honor-Courage-Commitment

JD’sMom used Military Honors by Lady Bug Designs for her page.  Carol says:  “These were some snapshots of my Dad when he was in the Army, stationed in Alaska in the early 1950’s, right after he and my Mom married.  Growing up, we would always get in the big cedar chest and dig out the “Alaska” scrapbook that my Mom put together and look at the photos of my Dad, who was (and still is) my Hero!”  I love her use of the photo strip, top cluster and how she wove the chain to tie it all together.

Coppercurls created a page is about her mom’s uncle Rex who served in the Army Air Corp during World War II using Military Honors by Lady Bug Designs.  I love the blended photo and journaling.

Erica used Artistic Fall by Kay Eflin, Karen Aicken, Ruth Davis, and Julie Mead in her beautiful tribute to her grandfather.  Erica’s photo and journaling are priceless treasures. Click on her layout, to go to the gallery and see all the credits for her page.

Lainey’s layout is a tribute to her cousin, Jim.   She states “My father’s sister and family lived on the West Coast of the United States and we lived on the East Coast.  I never met Jim until I was in high school and Jim was stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.  He used to come and visit us when he had free weekends.  Jim served during the Vietnam War and died tragically in 1996.  I never got to say goodbye to Jim but I remember him fondly and he holds a special place in my heart.”

So for all our brave soldiers and loved ones, we would like to say thanks for being you; we are thankful for your presence in our lives.    If you get a chance, drop by the E-scape and Scrap gallery and leave some praise for our E-scape Artists.

Erica922 has made some adorable printed items for you – a pillow-shaped treat box, perfect as a Thanksgiving table favor, created from Artistic Fall kit and word art Dee Bee Designs.  Her lovely card to let someone special know how you feel was created with Autumn Dawn Mini Kit by Dee Bee Designs.  I have created some word art – the one shown at the beginning of the posting and a plain one with a  transparent background shown below; the framed word art uses History Starts Now Elements and Papers plus brushes by Obsidian Dawn .

Thanks very much for both the mug and the pillow box printables, they are just beautiful. Unfortunately, I keep getting an error message when I try to download.

  2. Lainey Says:

Hello! Just wanted to let you know that the original file for pillowbox and card were corrupted and I have replaced it with a new version which I have successfully downloaded. Sorry for the inconvenience.
